"What's in your purse? Bricks?" "Don't ask me to hold your handbag, I don't want to get a muscle pull." "You don't need to go to the gym for weight training, lifting your handbag is enough weight training for you."
These are the various comments that my mom, mom-in-law and hubby have passed on my handbags. That and the various posts on "what's in my handbag/makeup bag" gave me the inspiration to do this post.
While there was a time when all you could find in my bag was makeup (besides money/credit cards/sunglasses), makeup in my handbag now is just a couple of lipsticks and a compact. So, what's in it? Have a look....
An old Charles and Keith wallet and my regular wear sunglasses. After my younger son broke my really expensive designer sunglasses, I normally wear these which.....aren't very expensive.
Nuts, chocolates, biscuits....I need to keep something for the kids to munch on for the times when we are stuck in traffic or for whenever hunger strikes. And when I'm rushing around, picking up one son from school, taking another for cricket class etc etc, I need the sugar too!
For dirty hands and faces, sudden blocked noses, hang nails etc.....
Yes, these are the most important things in my handbag (after my wallet of course); very important for my peace of mind coz these are the boys fave toys. The cars of course keep changing, these are the ones currently in my bag. Sometimes though, both want the same car and then......you get the picture :/
These are my essentials; blotting sheets, nail file, clips, hand cream, nail polish remover wipes, Shiseido powder foundation that I generally just use as a compact, L'Occitane Shea Butter, TBS lip balm, Estée Lauder and Bourjois eye pencils (both of which have become little stubs and though I have already bought backups of both, I'm still not letting these go), and four lipsticks.
Maybelline Colourscensationals in Totally Toffee, MAC Please Me, Revlon Colorburst in Soft Rose and Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra lipstick in Watermelon.
This is what I usually have in my go-to handbag. I keep switching bags depending on where I'm going and for what so I keep switching products too but this is my standard bag since a couple of months.
Each and every bag of mine, even the smallest clutch, has a bottle of Bath and Body Works Pocketbac and L'Occitane Shea Butter, just can't do without these two.
What's in your handbag? Go on, give us a good snoop.....
